Travel story
A Costa Rican morning embraced by the breath of green. Starting from San José, walk the trails of the tropical rainforest and you are greeted by the slow gaze of a sloth, the calls of monkeys, and the vivid colors of frogs and toucans. With the scent of cacao in hand, making real chocolate becomes a sweet memory woven by nature and people. In the highlands the aroma of coffee blends with the mist, and the deep crater of Poás makes you feel the heartbeat of the earth. At dawn walk the edge of the sea of clouds to search for the quetzal and be captivated by its brilliant green tail feathers. A journey guided only by birdsong and the wind. The senses loosen and everyday life grows distant in this quiet adventure with nature. The smell of damp earth, light reflecting on the river surface, and the chorus of frogs on tropical nights gradually melt into your heart. Touching the farm’s handicrafts conveys the rhythm of people’s lives and the land. Close your eyes and you’ll recall the hum of hummingbird wings and the sparkle of leaves wet with morning dew. At the end of the trip only a quiet afterglow remains, far from the city’s clamor, and your steps returning to everyday life will feel a little lighter. Time spent here is a gift to learn the earth’s abundance with all your senses. The landscapes woven by morning and evening light and shadow will soak deeply into your memories and become a light that makes you want to return someday.

Mountain coffee plantation and spectacular Poás volcano tour
A half-day tour at a mountain coffee plantation to learn about cultivation and processing, enjoy tastings, and shop for souvenirs. Then visit the large crater of Poás Volcano at 2,708 m elevation. Guidance is provided regarding volcanic gases and alternative plans when the park is closed. The plantation tour includes breakfast on shared transport and a close look at local history and production sites.
Early departure! Quetzal search during breeding season and breakfast
Depart San José early in the morning to search for quetzals with a guide in San Gerardo de Dota. Easier to spot during the breeding season, you’ll observe for about two hours, then have breakfast at a restaurant with feeding stations. Return to San José by mid-morning and enjoy the afternoon at leisure. The breeding season brings brighter plumage ideal for photos. Accompanied by an English-speaking guide for peace of mind.
