Travel story
The bustle of Istanbul and the strange rock formations of Cappadocia — what stays with you afterward are the quiet moments and the shapes of the scenery.
It feels like taking two journeys in one country.

-
Six days exploring Istanbul's Old City and the Beyoğlu district, and Cappadocia.
Walk through the history of mosques and bazaars, gaze at the rocky valleys and the balloon-filled sky,
and enjoy both Turkey's urban culture and its spectacular natural scenery.
Signature points
Experience Turkey's two faces at once
Istanbul, where historic architecture and diverse cultures thrive, and Cappadocia, an extraordinary place woven from strange rocks and sky.
This itinerary lets you fully enjoy both city walks and natural landscapes.
Stroll the city from the Old City to Beyoğlu
In addition to the Old City with Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and the Grand Bazaar,
visit Taksim Square and Galata Tower to feel contemporary Turkey.
The charm lies in wandering and sampling local flavors and atmosphere.
Enjoy the landforms on the popular Red Tour and hot air balloons
The Red Tour around Cappadocia, dotted with fairy chimneys, rocky valleys, and ancient monasteries,
and the early morning hot air balloon flights reveal landscapes you can only see then.
You will encounter a world that looks like sculptures made by nature.

Day2
  • Breakfast
  • Istanbul (Old City - Walking Tour) Our first stop is the Hagia Sophia, the 6th-century Byzantine basilica, the largest church of its era, and the architectural glory of the Byzantines.

We continue with Hippodrome Square, which was considered the heart of Constantinople, where the chariot races were held, and the Blue Mosque, a 17th-century imperial mosque famous for its six minarets and its interior blue tiles.

We will proceed to the Grand Bazaar, which was the commercial heart of the old city, and its 4,000 shops are full of treasures—including carpets and kilims, silks, jewelry, ceramics, icons, and leather goods. Wandering through the Grand Bazaar, indulge in some shopping, Ottoman style.

Day3
  • Breakfast
  • Istanbul (Dolmabahce & Taksim, Beyoglu Area) We will begin our tour at the iconic Dolmabahçe Palace, the sumptuously decorated 19th-century lavish Ottoman residence on the Bosphorus.

Then, we will proceed to Taksim Square and head down the pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Istiklal Street), originally home to many foreign embassies, now consulates. Formerly known as Pera, this area is now called Beyoğlu.

We will take a peek at some of the most popular restaurants (not necessarily the fanciest) to gain insight into Turkish cuisine.

We will stroll through the Çiçek Pasajı (Flower Arcade) and the adjoining small fish market, feasting our eyes on the displays of fresh produce and trying some of the more unusual delicacies.

We will also sit down to enjoy a Turkish coffee at a tiny hole-in-the-wall spot, prepared by a master coffee-maker.

Our walk will take us towards the Galata Tower, where we will enjoy a delicious lunch together. [Japanese Guide]
