Travel story
The journey begins at the port of Callao, where the Pacific's surf fades into the distance. Leaving the bustle of Lima behind, the thin air of highland Cusco sharpens the senses like a sting on the skin. The circular terraces of Moray, carved into the Andes' womb, are an ancient laboratory painted by earth and light. The salt pans of Maras, sparkling on the mountainside like stardust, hold the memory of an ancient sea if you cradle them in your hand. The train winds through the valley and rests for the night in green-clad Aguas Calientes; as morning mist rises, the stone poetry of Machu Picchu reveals itself. In the sanctuary where stone, wind, and sun intersect, time slowly unravels and stories of old whisper through the gaps in the stone walls. On the return journey, the scents of markets and the aftertaste of the sea mingle at the window, and the landscapes and smiling faces encountered along the way are etched into the heart. The trip goes beyond sightseeing, closing quietly while embracing the breath of the land and the echoes of history.

Moray ruins and Maras salt mines
Upon arrival at the Moray ruins, visit the three famous circular, amphitheater-like terraces created by the Inca. These terraces are bowl-shaped and carved deep into the earth. It is believed the Inca used these terraces as agricultural laboratories to determine the best conditions for crop growth.
Next, travel about 3 kilometers to the Maras salt mines (Salineras de Maras). This village is known for its historical salt production, with origins believed to date back to pre-Inca times. Over 2,000 salt pools are carved into the mountainside, and each pool is filled daily by flowing water. You can also purchase salt as a souvenir.
