Travel story
If the hills are steep, just walk and push.
Even then, the scenery is always beside you.
If this is life, it might be rather nice.
—
This journey starts in Zurich and cycles through Swiss landscapes visiting places like Grindelwald and Lucerne. For high-altitude spots such as Kleine Scheidegg and Jungfraujoch, mountain trains are used, so the sections ridden by bike offer varied routes along lakeshores and meadows.
In Grindelwald you spend time with views of the Jungfrau mountains, and in Lucerne you explore the lakeside and the old town sights, also making a trip up to the summit of Mount Pilatus. The comfort of this trip is its unhurried pace—moving along while conversing with the scenery rather than chasing speed.
Signature points
Alpine foothill time where pedals and scenery fall into rhythm
Don’t chase speed—move slowly in time with the landscape.
Whether climbing or pausing, the freedom of the road turns out to suit you more than you expected.
An itinerary where trains and slopes hand off gently
Take a mountain train up the mountain, ride your bike to the lakeside.
The means of transport itself becomes part of the scenic experience.
Ride well, rest well. A Swiss-style trip with clear contrasts
Take a deep breath at the summit of Pilatus, enjoy a chocolate break in the shade by the lake.
This is not a trip aimed at riding hard, but one where the landscape sinks in the more you ride.

Welcome to Zurich
Culturally vibrant, efficiently run and attractively set at the meeting of river and lake, Zürich is regularly recognised as one of
the world's most liveable cities. Long known as a savvy, hard-working financial centre, Switzerland's largest and wealthiest
metropolis has also emerged in the 21st century as one of Central Europe's hippest destinations, with an artsy, post-industrial
edge that is epitomised in its exuberant summer Street Parade.
Much of the ancient centre, with its winding lanes and tall church steeples, has been kept lovingly intact. Yet Zürich has also
wholeheartedly embraced contemporary trends, with the conversion of old factories into cultural centres and creative new
living spaces. Nowhere is that clearer than in Züri-West, the epicentre of the city’s nightlife.
-
Upon arrival in Zurich Airport, make your own way to your hotel located near the airport - you can use the shuttle
service from the airport to the hotel.
