Travel story
Abu Simbel Temple, the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, Luxor Temple, the Valley of the Kings, and a Nile River cruise. This sample itinerary visits Egypt’s major archaeological sites as much as possible together with a family member who needs a wheelchair for long distances and uneven ground.
In addition to the guide, support staff who assist with wheelchair mobility accompany the family on sightseeing tours and domestic flights. As wheelchair rental was not available for this itinerary, they brought one from Japan.
Where a wheelchair can go depends on the structure of the site and conditions on the day. We explain in advance which areas are accessible and which may be difficult, then guide you while checking conditions on site to ensure safety.
Signature points
The Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, icons of ancient Egypt
At Giza, near Cairo, visit the Pyramid of Khufu and the Sphinx up close. Standing before these immense structures built thousands of years ago, you can experience the grandeur of ancient Egyptian civilization.
Explore Abu Simbel Temple, Luxor, and the tomb paintings in the Valley of the Kings
Visit Abu Simbel Temple, lined with colossal statues; Luxor Temple, with its rows of columns; and the Valley of the Kings, where vivid murals remain in the tombs of the pharaohs. This tour takes in major archaeological sites in southern Egypt.
Connect archaeological towns by boat on a Nile River cruise
Cruise along the Nile, visiting riverside temples and archaeological towns. The scenery along the river, viewed from the boat, is another special part of this journey. A guide accompanies you aboard the cruise ship and leads tours at each port of call.

Medieval buildings such as mosques, madrasas, mausoleums, and mansions stand side by side. As you walk through the stone-built streets, you can feel the richness of urban culture from the Fatimid to the Mamluk period. The architectural beauty is captivating by day, while the nighttime illumination creates a magical atmosphere. This historic walking route is a destination where the stroll itself is a highlight.
