From Jakarta you head to Pangkalan Bun, then take a boat from Kumai Port to Tanjung Puting National Park. During the river cruise you can expect encounters with wildlife such as orangutans, proboscis monkeys, and kingfishers.
Accommodation is at the nature-integrated "Rimba Orangutan Ecolodge." In an environment designed to conserve electricity and water while remaining comfortable, onboard dinners and morning birdsong color the memories of the trip.
