From Amsterdam Airport to Amsterdam by train
Welcome to the lowlands! After arrival at Amsterdam airport you take a 15-minute train ride to your hotel in Amsterdam.
Your hotel will be located in the city center, which is an amazing labyrinth of canals and small streets, dotted with historic houses and other buildings. The center of Amsterdam is relatively small, so most places can be easily reached on foot or by bike. For longer distances, you can alternatively use the city’s tram or metro network.
-
Amsterdam - Private canal cruise to Rijksmuseum
From a canal dock in the historic center of Amsterdam you will board a small private open boat, that will take you along the many many canals. What a great way to explore the city in this peaceful way, and to see the center from this perspective! After about 1 hour, the boat will drop you off right in front of The Rijksmuseum.

Amsterdam - Rijksmuseum
The Rijksmuseum is the most famous museum in the Netherlands, which houses the country’s most important painting, The Night Watch by Rembrandt van Rijn. Besides this gigantic painting, you can also see The Milkmaid by Johannes Vermeer and many other 17th-century works by Dutch Master painters.

Hotel des Arts 3-Star
History in the heart of Amsterdam! Hotel des Arts is a special 18th century monument town house with 22 rooms full of character and warm ambience.
A perfect family hotel in Amsterdam center with rooms large enough for a family of four or five or deluxe double suites that have a marvelous view of the Amstel River for a romantic getaway. The beautifully decorated rooms and the friendly staff give this place a welcoming and informal atmosphere.
We love the location of Des Arts: it's centrally located at the wide Rokin close to the main sights but not too noisy, and a metro halt is just steps away (1 halt / 1 minute from Amsterdam Central Railway Station).
Do note that there is no elevator/lift and the upper floor rooms are reached by (sometimes steep) staircases, as is common in historic buildings like this.

Amsterdam - Day trip to Marken, Volendam, Edam and Zaanse Schans
Today it's time to check out some Dutch icons: wooden shoes, fishing villages, cheese, and windmills! Today, you will experience the beauty of the countryside to the north of Amsterdam. Your private driver will take you first to the picturesque village of Marken, located on an island in the Markermeer (once a bay of the North Sea, but now a lake). Here, you will explore the small village and visit a wooden shoe factory. From Marken, a ferry will take you to Volendam, Holland’s best-known fishing village. The quaint harbor is lined with cafes and fish stands and is a good place to enjoy local treats such as kibbeling (traditional battered and fried fish nuggets), eel, and herring.
Next, your driver will take you to visit the centuries-old cheese market in Edam. The actual cheese market is only held on Wednesdays in July and August, but the market square and ‘waag’ (weigh house) itself are very much worth a visit, even without an actual market taking place.
The last stop of your tour is Zaanse Schans. During the 17th century, over 600 windmills were constructed in the area around the Zaanse Schans, creating the first industrial zone. The windmills were used to grind spices, produce paint, saw wood, and produce oil. A number of these windmills still exist and can be visited today, allowing you to see how these wind-powered machines work, inside and out.
After a busy day of sightseeing, your driver will bring you back to your hotel.

Brussels - private guided walking tour: food
When it comes to Belgian food, you already know the classics: chips, waffles, beers and chocolate. But Brussels natives also eat "choesels", "bloempanch", "stoemp" and the "plattekeis". And have you tried its sweet delicacies, like "speculoos", "pain à la grecque", "smoutebollen" and "manons"? They really are a treat!
During this mouthwatering tour through the historical city centre your private local guide will show you all about the local specialities and you get the chance to taste famous and less well-known specialties. The tour also includes a break in a typical café to try a local beer, and takes about 2,5 hours in total.

Le Dixseptieme
The hotel is a veritable work of art, crafted and sculpted by time. In the 14th century the building stood on what was the first road in Brussels, linking the upper to the lower city. In 1695, the Marechal de Villeroy bombarded the center of Brussels on the orders of Louis XIV. The houses you see now were rebuilt later that year. One can still admire the wooden framework of this epoque in the timber rooftops of the hotel and in its majestic staircase, which dates from the 17th century, classified as having particular architectural merit.
The hotel is very close to the central railway station and a 4 minute walk from the main square Grote Markt.

Brussels - Day trip to Bruges
Today you will go on a day trip to Bruges. Your private driver will take you here in about 1 hour and 45 minutes one way.
Bruges is best explored on foot. A private guide will take you around the city's main sights on foot. There are so many of the sweetest cobbled streets and alleys, countless charming squares. While walking you notice the inner city is only very small, so you find yourself bumping into great famous monuments and highlights every few minutes. While strolling down the center and gazing up to the marvellous facades, do make sure to make a stop at one of the many chocolateries that Bruges is famous for. Also, try to find yourself an empty table at one of the historic squares and try out a locally brewed beer like Brugse Zot. Bruges is also well known for its lacework. At one point a quarter of all Bruges women worked in the lace industry. Today it is still being made and sold in many souvenir shops.
As you might notice, Bruges is quite popular with tourgroups and can get a bit overcrowded. Therefore you return to Brussels for overnight.

The tour continues past the many brewing installations that have been used in recent centuries. Upstairs you have a unique 360° view over beautiful Bruges. At the end of your trip you will be spoiled with an unfiltered Brugse Zot Blond, Brugse Zot Dubbel or Straffe Hendrik Tripel.
The tour takes about 45 minutes (plus tasting). There are some steep steps in the brewery.
