National Memorial Chorten
National Memorial Chorten: It was built in the memory of Third DrukGyalpo and is dedicated to World Peace. This large chorten is one of the most visible landmarks in Thimphu, and for many Bhutanese it is the focus of daily worship. The Tibetan-style stupa was built in 1974 as a memorial to the third king, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. The whitewashed chorten, with its sun-catching golden finial, has richly painted annexes facing the cardinal directions, and features elaborate mandalas, statues and a shrine dedicated to the popular king.

After the early breakfast the sightseeing begins in Thimphu Buddha Dordenma: It is located atop in Kuenselphodrang Nature Park, is one of the largest statues of Buddha in the world. You will view the golden Buddha sitting atop a golden meditation hall. It is strange to know, the visitors aren’t actually looking at one Buddha; they’re looking at 125,000 of them. Inside of Thimphu’s 169-foot Buddha Dordenma statue, there are 125,000 miniature Buddhas (ranging from 8 to 12 inches tall).
The views of Thimphu valley from the top are quite spectacular.
Visit to Takin Preserve Centre: Takin is Bhutan’s national animals. Takin Preserve is located at Motithang, a 15 minutes’ drive from the Thimphu Town. An enclosed area in the woods away from the settlement houses herds of Takin and some other rare animals such as Muntjac deer, Sambar, and Serow.Folk Heritage Museum: It provides visitors with fascinating insights into the Bhutanese material culture and glimpse of the traditional Bhutanese lifestyle and leisure time explore the market. After that you will hike to wangdi Tse lhakhang: It is one of the oldest temples in Thimphu and an important national heritage site.
It stands on the ridge overlooking Thimphu valley especially Tashichhodzong.

Hike to Taktsang Monastery
Tiger's Nest Monastery (Paro Taktsang) on foot. The entire Tiger's Nest Hike takes around 5 to 6 hours, with about 4.8km of uphill trekking and about 4.8km of downhill walking.
You have the option to rent a horse at the designated place if you prefer. Riding a horse (self-payment required), it takes about 1.5 hours to reach the halfway point on the mountainside. From there, and hike for another 1.5 hours to reach the Tiger's Nest Monastery.
At the halfway point, there is a Taktsang Cafeteria where you can have a buffet lunch and enjoy coffee and tea and after that if you want to take Hot Stone Bath (Self Paid)
