Travel story
A journey following a quiet heartbeat to the land where greenery breathes.
This plan visits three of Costa Rica’s active volcanoes and offers hikes with spectacular views.
Leaving the bustle of San José behind, the mysterious crater of Irazú Volcano holds a green lake, and on clear days you can even see both oceans. Feel the reverence at the Basilica in the ancient city of Cartago, and relax amid the orchid gardens of Lankester and the pastoral landscapes of the Orosi Valley. Walk through the forests of Arenal to witness the solemn presence of a sleeping volcano, and at night surrender to the steam of the Paradise Hot Springs. At Rincón de la Vieja, mud pools and fumaroles convey the breath of the earth, and Oropendola Falls pours forth blue waters. Awake to the fragrant coffee of Doka Estate, and let the mist of Poás, the sounds of La Paz falls, and the chorus of birds fill your day. The scenes woven by accessible nature and simple lifestyles create a travel experience imprinted on the senses.
Leave everyday life far behind and weave an unfading story at your own pace.
