Departing from the Routeburn trailhead on the Queenstown side, hike approximately 8 km (elevation gain about 300 m) in about 2.5 hours through clear streams and native forest to the scenic Routeburn Flat. Along the way enjoy a walk and lunch while viewing waterfalls and alpine scenery. The round-trip vehicle views of Lake Wakatipu and the Southern Alps are also highlights.
