  • Chefchaouen The town's name comes from the two mountain peaks rising above the hill and means "two horns." The old medina is known as the "Blue City" because buildings and streets are painted blue, and its magical scenery attracts many visitors.
    Stroll along the cobblestone streets and enjoy the beautiful views of blue-painted buildings.
    After enjoying mint tea at Plaza Uta el-Hammam, browse the many shops selling colorful goods.
    Also visit the nearby kasbah (fortress) and explore the 15th-century fortress and its dungeons.

  • Fez sightseeing Fez is Morocco's oldest capital and one of the most fascinating and stimulating places. It has a medina that is the most fully preserved in the Arab world and has remained largely unchanged since its founding over 1,000 years ago. Considered the cultural capital, Fez is made up of three areas: Fez el-Bali (the old medina), Fez el-Jedid (the new medina), and the modern Ville Nouvelle influenced by the French colonial era.

    Meet your guide and spend a half day walking the narrow streets of the medina while learning about its history and culture.

    Fez el-Bali's Bab Bou Jeloud gate
    Start here and proceed along the main street, Tala'a Kebira. Notice architectural influences from Spain and Tunisia as you pass shops and souks (markets).
    Tannery (leather tanning)
    One of the most unique sights in the old medina is the Chouara Tannery. Climb to the rooftop of a nearby leather shop to view the 11th-century stone dyeing vats and craftsmen working with techniques used for centuries.
    Al-Attarine Madrasa
    Built in the 14th century, this building is a beautiful example of Moroccan architecture and craftsmanship, noted for its intricate zellij (tilework).
    Al-Qarawiyyin University

  • Marrakech sightseeing Marrakech, known as the "Red City", is famous for its red sandstone walls and buildings and was once an important trading hub for tribes of the Atlas Mountains. It remains one of the former imperial cities where you can still feel its liveliness and history.

    In the evening, Jemaa el-Fnaa, one of the liveliest squares in Africa, comes alive. Musicians, performers, snake charmers, games, and food stalls provide every kind of entertainment.

    Koutoubia Mosque and gardens
    Non-Muslims cannot enter the mosque, but its 12th-century foundations and the 77-meter-high minaret are worth seeing. The adjacent gardens offer fountains and ponds to enjoy.

    Souks (markets)
    Visit Souk el-Attarine, Souk Chouari, and Souk Smata where spices, woodcrafts, and traditional Moroccan slippers called babouche are sold. At the dyers' souk (Souk des Teinturiers), you can see fabrics and threads dyed using traditional methods.
