Travel story
Changing scenery without moving
Deepening perspective without climbing
This is how to spend time in Norway
—
This journey begins in Stavanger and travels north along Norway's west coast, weaving between fjords and mountains. At Preikestolen you walk the cliff overlooking the fjord; afterward the trip continues mainly by boat and train, surrendering yourself to the scenery.
On the Geirangerfjord cruise you gaze up at steep cliffs and cascading waterfalls, and on the Flåm Railway you follow the vistas connecting valleys and mountainsides from the train window. Even without large physical exertion, the itinerary allows you to deeply savor the depth of space and the changing landscapes.
Signature points
Survey without moving: depth and structure of the scenery
Through viewpoints, cruises, and train windows,
you experience continuous changes in the landscape without moving your body.
Travel arranged around scenery by train, boat, and bus
The modes of transport themselves are highlights of the trip.
Itineraries including the Flåm Railway and fjord cruises intensify the density of the scenery.
A constructed route across Norway's west coast
Traveling north from Stavanger to Geiranger and Ålesund.
Changes in terrain and the layout of towns give the entire trip a three-dimensional feel.
