Travel story
Chasing the light that opens on the water
The wind links the white towns together
A journey where the scenery pleasantly continues
—
Beginning with Slovenia's lakes and gorges, then the coastal towns of Croatia, and onward to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, this is a trip that follows paths of bright scenery and passing breezes.
Waterfront views—waterfalls, rivers, and the sea—appear in succession, and as you move, the color of the sky and the lightness of the air change little by little.
While a guide provides careful explanations that reveal the background of each place, the true protagonists are the landscapes unfolding before you and the refreshing wind that blows through them.
Signature points
Clear landscapes formed by lakes and waterfalls
In Slovenia, the journey begins amid highly transparent lakes, green-enshrouded gorges, and cascading waterfalls. The light reflected on the water and the moisture-laden air immediately convey the region's distinctive sense of freshness.
Coastal towns of the Adriatic and open light
In Croatia, a series of bright, open views is created by the sea’s colors and stone-built townscapes. Even while walking along ramparts and through old towns, the sea is always within sight, and wind and light envelop the entire town.
Changing winds and air beyond borders
As you proceed into Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, the terrain, the character of towns, and the flow of air gradually change. Rather than deliberately noting national differences, the pleasantness of this itinerary lies in experiencing the landscape as a continuous sequence.
