  • Winter Wonderland & Christmas Markets (Free) Likely London’s largest and most exuberant Christmas market, Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park has become a defining feature of the capital’s festive season. What began in the mid‑2000s as a modest winter fair has grown into a vast seasonal village, inspired by the great Christmas markets of continental Europe and reimagined on a grand London scale. Each winter, from November through early January, Hyde Park is transformed into a glowing celebration of light, food, music and winter cheer, welcoming millions of visitors.

At the heart of Winter Wonderland lies Angel’s Christmas Market, a maze of charming Alpine‑style wooden chalets—far more enchanting than garden shed, offering everything from handcrafted ornaments and personalised gifts to festive treats and nostalgic sweets. The scent of roasted chestnuts, mulled wine and spiced sausages drifts through the air, while strings of lights and towering decorations create an atmosphere reminiscent of traditional German and Austrian markets.

Beyond shopping, Winter Wonderland is designed as a full festive experience. Over the years it has expanded to include the famous Bavarian Village, ice skating around a Victorian bandstand, fairground rides and seasonal entertainment, blending centuries‑old winter traditions with modern spectacle. More than just a market, it has become a ritual of the London winter, signalling the true arrival of Christmas in the city.

Day5
  • Breakfast
  • Our Special Pubs for You! Manetta’s Bar Flemings (Mayfair): Plush velvet, supple black upholstery and polished rose gold set the scene for some seriously stylish sips in an ambience redolent of the glamorous 1930s. During this time, Manetta's was the favourite hangout for the cognoscenti from the worlds of literature and the arts, who mingled with celebrated rakes and aristos.

The Harp (Covent Garden): This cosy pub is a haven for real ale enthusiasts, offering a rotating selection of cask ales and traditional pub snacks. The atmosphere is relaxed, making it a great spot to unwind after a day of exploring Covent Garden.

The Spaniards Inn (Hampstead): Dating back to the 16th century, The Spaniards Inn is steeped in history and charm. Set against the backdrop of Hampstead Heath, this pub is perfect for enjoying a pint by the fireplace or in the picturesque beer garden.

The Lamb & Flag (Covent Garden): Known as one of London's oldest pubs, The Lamb & Flag has been serving customers since the 18th century. With its low ceilings, wooden beams, and cosy nooks, it's a quintessential British pub experience.

The Mayflower (Rotherhithe): Situated along the Thames in Rotherhithe, The Mayflower is steeped in maritime history. This traditional pub offers stunning views of the river and serves a selection of cask ales and hearty British fare.

Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese (City of London): Tucked away in a maze of narrow alleys near Fleet Street, Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese is a London institution. Dating back to 1667, this historic pub has welcomed many famous literary figures over the centuries.

The Blackfriar (Blackfriars): Housed in a stunning Art Nouveau building, The Blackfriar is as much a work of art as it is a pub. With its ornate decor, including intricate mosaics and carved woodwork, it's a must-see for architecture enthusiasts.
